Not to my surprise, our friends have embraced the ImInEurope.com idea and ordered some postcards. We officially start promoting the website today – monday, june 29th – and we need your support. If you reached this page, it means there’s a slight interest in this project and with very little effort you can help us make it a success. Spread the word (your blog, facebook, twitter), write us an email, order a postcard or host us. Any feedback/contact/help is appreciated :)
I’m a very big fan of Ryanair. I’m sure everybody’s heard of the leading in low cost flights in Europe: 1 millions seats for 5€, 10€ or sometimes 1€. But what some people don’t know is that it’s actually true – you can get tickets as low as 1£, including all taxes. Not only that, but the flights are rarely late or cancelled and, most importantly, safe. I know I sound like a Ryanair evangelist, but maybe that would happen to you as well after the tenth time you travel with them, always being impressed ith their professionalism and their prices. All of the flights on this trip are with Ryanair and we’re really proud of it.
We already have orders! Some people have ordered postcards, from Spain mainly, even though we’re still at gamma mode – one step before beta. The website is on but we haven’t told our list yet, but somehow some very cool people found IminEurope.com and ordered a few dozen postcards. I’m extremely excited about all this, I love to send and receive postcards…
I’m letting this Morrissey’s song title confuse the readers about the current state of things on purpose. I’m not seasick, but as it suggests, I’m already being influenced by the trip, even though it’s months away from us. The tickets are bought – by 2€ each leg – itinerary decided, and this wonderful project is set up. I’m in Europe.com is one of the most exciting plans in which I’ve ever partaken. I’m specially excited about the friends we’re gonna make – since we were extremely lucky in our last trip, meeting all these sweet and cool people. Now I feel like I checked in at the counter and I’m waiting at the shops, before embarking. It’s gonna be a three month waiting, so let me have another look at these overpriced adapters, batteries and inflatable plane pillows they’re selling here… See you soon! x
Fritz and I tend to have a nomadic bent. We may have inclinations to wander the earth, but not senselessly. I think the drive towards travel is to see the world with new eyes and new experiences. When you are home, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle of everyday and lose perspective. I think for that reason humans, metaphorically speaking, have needed to travel to survive. The world is constantly in flux, it changes our view. We chase nourishment into strange territory, refresh our senses with the new, and come home to the familiar, but suddenly vibrant place we love to live.
So, we are traveling again in September. I’ve never been to any of these places, and Fritz will be showing me some of his favorites. Hopefully they will be our new favorite places to visit. I’m going to get to see a friend I haven’t seen since 2003 at least, my dear Verity. It’s a bit of an epic trek across portions of the continent that will make me hit the pause button on everything I’ve been working on since I’ve arrived, but I have this sneaking feeling it will not only be worth it (obvious), but will be necessary for my sanity at the end of a long, hot summer.
So salut – to Fritz and I, to refreshments and travel, to new places and tying it all together. I’m excited. Especially about the postcards :)
